What is Hug in a Box? 

2020 taught us how vital it is to look after ourselves and those around us. While technology has helped keep us connected, sadly, we’ve not been able to share that much-needed hug with our loved ones. Increased feelings of isolation and loneliness have affected many of us, and got us talking about self-care and positive thinking: the idea for ‘Hug in a Box’ was born.

Hug in a Box is a self-care product containing five items carefully sourced from local businesses which aim to treat, comfort and reassure anyone who might need a pick-me-up. All the items included in the box are designed to help you de-stress and look after yourself both mentally and physically. The box could be purchased for yourself or gifted to someone you love to let them know you are thinking of them. Alternatively, you could also purchase a box to be donated directly to one of our service users to provide comfort and connection.  

When will my Hug in a Box be received? 

Your Hug in a Box is delivered by Royal Mail, and you should expect this to arrive within 3 - 5 working days after you have received your dispatch email. However, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there may be delays which means we are allowing an extra 2 weeks (on top of standard delivery times) for UK deliveries – we are unable to issue a refund for an undelivered parcel before allowing this extra time. 

What if I want to return my Hug in a Box? 

If you are not happy with the product and would like to return your box in exchange for a refund, please contact the team at restore@weareac.org with evidence of any defects or explaining why you are not satisfied. The team will then be able to process a refund in accordance to our refund policy in our Terms and Conditions.  

I would like to send a Hug in a Box to a friend anonymously, is this possible? 

Yes, this is possible. At checkout there is a box which you can leave a personalised message in if you are sending this to someone else. However, if you want to send the gift anonymously you can leave this box blank and it will be a complete surprise to the receiver.  

Is the Hug in a Box environmentally friendly? 

Yes, this was very important to us! All of our packaging can be recycled (please peel postage sticker off before recycling our mailer bag) and all products included in the box have been carefully and sustainably sourced. All products are from small local businesses who have worked extremely hard to make it through the pandemic and would appreciate all the support they can get – we support shopping local!  

Do you ship outside of the UK? 

Unfortunately, we currently only offer a Hug in a Box to UK residents.
